Introduction of School of Biological Science and Technology
The School of Biological Science and Technology of Liupanshui Normal University started in 1980. After undergoing changes in the Department of Biology, Department of Biology and Geography Science and Department of Life Science, it developed into the School of Biological Science and Technology in May 2017. The college has three undergraduate majors: biological Science (Normal Science class), Plant Science and Technology (Agronomic plant Production class) and Animal Science (Agronomic Animal Production class).Zoology and botany are the provincial key supporting disciplines, and ecology is the provincial key disciplines at the school level. At present, it has built 2 provincial quality courses, 6 provincial golden courses and 4 university-level quality courses. In 2016, the discipline construction point of the master's degree awarding units of the Provincial Degree Office was added. In 2017, it began to cooperate with Liaoning Normal University, Dalian University, Guizhou Normal University and other universities to train graduate students. In 2021, the biological science major will pass the second-level certification of normal major by the Ministry of Education. In 2022, the biological science major was approved as the provincial first-class major construction site, and the plant science and technology major was awarded as the university-level First-class major. In 2023, the laboratory of the Department of Life Science was awarded the National Science Popularization Education Base, and the science popularization innovation team of the laboratory was selected as the eighth advanced collective of Science popularization in Guizhou Province, and successfully undertook the 2023 Academic Annual Conference of Guizhou Entomological Society and the Seminar on Insect Science and pest control from the perspective of mountain characteristic and efficient agriculture. In 2024, the school will be selected as the fourth batch of National Nature Education Base (schools), with the Department of Life Science Laboratory as the main body.
College existing staff and teachers 46 people, including 7, is senior laboratory 2, associate professor and enjoy treatment of 21, senior laboratory, PhD degree 22 people, master degree 13, Guizhou province government special allowance experts 1, Guizhou thousand level talent 3 people, city experts 13 people, field academic leader 3 people, academic leader 5 people, master part-time tutor 20 people. It has 15 teaching teams, including provincial zoology teaching and research team and municipal plant resources and environmental ecology research and innovation team. He has won 1 provincial teaching achievement award and 4 school-level teaching achievement awards. Since 2012, the teachers of the college have undertaken 286 scientific research and educational reform projects, with a total funding of 42.214,500 yuan, including 7 national Natural Science Foundation of China, 59 provincial and ministerial level projects, and 102 prefecture-level projects. Thirty-two new species were found, including 7 amphibians, 14 insects, 6 spiders and 5 fungi. Five new records of birds in Guizhou province, 1 reptiles, 1 amphibian, and more than 70 new plant species were found. He has published 429 papers on scientific research and educational reform, including 65 papers included in SCI, 132 core journal papers and 23 educational reform papers. It has published 1 textbook, published 9 monographs, and authorized 50 patents. In 2013, the study on Species Diversity and lineage Geography of Guizhou Plateau olt and salamander led by Professor Tian Yingzhou was funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, which achieved a breakthrough in the national Natural Science Foundation of China project. In 2020, Professor Chen Hong and his team are online in Nature, a top international academic journal.
